Hospital Makeup Routine

The amount of messages I received about my makeup and skincare routines after posting about baby girl were insane! I figured I’d start by sharing my makeup routine from Charlotte’s delivery with you all to answer some of these questions. I knew I wanted to get a little more dolled up and never imagined the response about product recommendations. A lot of these products I’ve used for years and some are new, but all are holy grails for me. If you have any questions about how I use these products feel free to leave a comment or DM me! I love talking all things beauty and makeup!

Hospital Bag Update: What I Actually Used

Wow, what a week it’s been! One week filled with nothing but newborn snuggles, kisses, and lots of diaper changes. Mama and baby are doing great and big brother couldn’t be more obsessed with HIS baby. Now that we’re settled into somewhat of a “normal routine” I wanted to update my hospital bag packing list with the things I actually used. Spoiler alert – I used virtually nothing like I knew I would. What can I say is that I’m an over packer through and through whether it’s vacation or going to have a baby.

Things I actually used:

Water bottle – definitely a must

Sugar free jolly ranchers – sucked on these when I was cut off from eating and drinking

Pillow and blanket – a MUST basically the only I used

Toiletries- this is an obvious one, but we used all our toiletries to shower the next day

KB pink pajamas – changed into these with my robe, but exactly what I thought would happen did 🤭 my advice is dark colors always

KB bamboo lounge pants – changed into this the next day KB nursing bra

BF dreams baby blanket – loved this for the baby

BF dreams sweater – changed into this the next day

Ugg slippers – so warm and cozy in the hospital

Belly band – didn’t use in the hospital but definitely would have if I was there longer

Stroller fan – loved this for when I was super nauseous. Clipped it on my bed

iPad – used this more in the postpartum room when I was sick of watching the olympics. Needed some bravo in my life and couldn’t deal with the hospital cable options anymore. Last labor I listened to a lot of podcasts on my iPad as well to pass the time, this time I didn’t.

Always panties – I liked these much better than the hospital diaper situation, especially to go home in when I put on real clothes

As I said above, overall you could go to the hospital with absolutely nothing and be completely fine. I brought everything I could possibly need and still my MVPs were my own pillow and blanket. I also had a super fast labor, so things I might have used or used last time with Chase I didn’t get a chance to this time. Leave me some questions on my IG about any of my hospital packing!! I hope this helps!

Postpartum Loungewear

I know I post on my IG stories about my cozy lounge sets all the time, but I haven’t shared them on the blog! I swear I live in these sets and definitely plan to do so post baby girl. Anything comfy, cozy, soft, and chic is right up my alley. These are my most recent postpartum loungewear purchases. Let’s match!

Splendid Eco Sweatshirt and Knit Jogger Pants: I don’t know what it is about this pregnancy, maybe it’s that I’m having a girl, but I’m obsessed with pink! This set is literally the cutest and so comfortable too.

Sundown by Splendid Jada Heart Embroidered Sweatshirt & Shorts: OMG the little heart designs are melting my heart. I love that this set is long sleeves with shorts!

Splendid Westport PJ Set: I love a muted floral design and this set seals the deal. Loving this cozy vibe!

Alo Muse Ribbed Cropped Hoodie Set: I’ve talked about this set on my stories quite a few times and I’m here to say it’s still a must have!

PJ Salvage Rib Tie Waist Robe: I love living in robes on lazy mornings. This one is so soft and dreamy, I can’t wait to live in it!

French Terry Sweatshirt – Universal Thread™: Another pop of pink and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love everything about this set!

Z SUPPLY Ada Fleece Short Sleeve Set: Anything fleece is a huge yes from me. I wish you all could feel this set through the screen, but since you can’t you… happy shopping!

Z SUPPLY Lou Layering Cardi: This cardi has me shook. It’s so comfortable and looks so nice over anything. I think this will be great for around the house.

Do you have any recommendations for other loungewear sets? Any other stores to check out? Let me know!!

Where I’m Shopping For Baby C

Ryan, Chase & I are eagerly waiting for the arrival of our baby girl! We can’t wait to be a family of four, it feels absolutely surreal. I am so thrilled to match Chase & baby girl and for him to be a big brother. One of my most favorite things I have been doing to get prepared for our tiny dancer is shopping for her. This experience has been so special to my family and I can’t wait to share it with you all! Here are the places I have been shopping for our baby girl.

Kissy Kissy

Garden Roses Footie & Garden Roses Women’s Robe

I absolutely adore this company! Kissy Kissy has high quality products for babies by using luxurious fabrics that are just as soft as a baby’s bum. I found the cutest mommy + mini matching onesie & robe set that is perfect for any instagram photo op! I think this delicate garden rose print is too sweet.

Little Giraffe

Stretch Chenille DreamPod Swaddle

Little Giraffe has the cutest baby blankets, pillows, plush toys, and everything anyone would need for bathtime! I love how convenient this swaddle is with the velcro closure, keeping your baby warm and secure throughout the night. It’s super soft with the chenille plush fabric. I wish these were made in adult sizes!

Arabella & Rose

Baby Girls Layla White Muslin Ruffle Romper & Girls White Muslin Accessories

Arabella & Rose is such an adorable store, they are Australian based however they ship internationally! I love their wide selection of baby girl rompers and accessories, which come in packs of 3, so convenient. If you are looking for special pieces for your sweet girl like I have been, check out this company!

Olive & Cocoa

Keepsake Pearl Baby Bracelet

This store ships everything in a hand crafted wooden crate with a beautiful bow around it! 10/10 for the packaging, and I just can’t with this baby pearl bracelet. This is perfect for any gift of the arrival of a newborn. The freshwater pearl bracelet is 5 inches in length and the perfect keepsake to have while watching our baby girl grow.

Elegant Baby

Woodland Print Organic Baby Bath Wrap

Elegant Baby has an amazing selection of personalized gifts such as blankets, toys, and even apparel. I fell head over heels for this baby bath wrap for our baby girl. It’s 100% organic cotton and has an adorable hood attached to keep the little one cozy and warm after a bath. This print is to die for.

Eida Baby

Eyelet Cherry Set & Dolce Petit Red Blue Striped Shorts Set

Eida Baby is the sweetest baby & children’s clothing store based in Europe, they have free shipping for orders over $50 which is so great! I love this store because they have matching sibling sets for newborns and children. Chase and our baby girl are going to be an overload of cuteness when she arrives!

Ivy City Co.

Baby Madeline Onesie In Pink & Madeline Dress In Pink

Can you tell I cannot wait to have a little mini me? Seriously how cute is this duo of the Madeline print in pink for a matching onesie & dress! Ivy City Co has plenty of more options on their website for matching mommy and me outfits! It was seriously hard to just pick one.

Lou Lou & Co

Vanilla Lace Bow & INDY RIBBED TWIST HEADBAND

This adorable company has such a wide selection of accessories for baby girls, from bows, to headbands, they even have packs of trios! From soft fabrics to stretchy this place definitely has what you will be looking for to dress up baby girls! I’m so impressed with how many print and color options they have available.

MORI

Floral Reversible Sun Hat & Baby Mitten & Bootie Set

This cute reversible sun hat is perfect for those sunny days when you want to keep the little one protected while you’re outside! I also adore their baby mitten & bootie sets which come in many different size and color selections!

Dear James

PUKATUKA PINK FLORAL RUFFLE SET & PUKATUKA KNIT BONNET

Shop Dear James is such a sweet store for baby clothes! I love the sets they have for baby girls and fell in love with their variety of timeless prints. These ruffle bottoms are seriously heart stopping; they are that perfect! They also have so many accessories, this light pink baby bonnet is handmade and so dear.

Let me know where you all get your sweet baby girl’s clothes from! I am always looking for new boutiques and companies, especially for mommy and me matching outfits.

What’s In My Hospital Bag

We’re getting closer and closer to welcoming our baby girl, and I figured that it’s about time I got around to packing my hospital bag! I definitely feel a little bit more prepared this time around now that I have a better idea of what to expect and what we will all need while we’re at the hospital.

One of my absolute favorite brands for all things pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood is Kindred Bravely. Kindred Bravely designs maternity and nursing clothes that are both useful and comfortable—not to mention absolutely gorgeous! They so kindly gifted me some amazing pregnancy, maternity, and hospital items. One of my favorite items is their Universal Labor and Delivery Gown. I absolutely love the adorable pink color and I know it’ll make me feel so much more comfortable in the hospital. Thank you so much, Kindred Bravely!

Okay so before we start this list, I’m fully aware that it seems like I’m packing for a week long vacation rather than 2 nights in the hospital! I have to admit, I stress over the hospital bag like no other and the irony is that I’ve done this before and know you don’t really need much of anything!!!! I’ll touch on a few of my MVPs and then list everything else that I can think of that’s coming with me.

What I’m Bringing

My own pillows and blanket.

This was probably my “most used” from my delivery with Chase. I went into labor around 11pm, so it was really nice to get a nights rest while I was progressing. I was super cozy with my own pillow and blanket. I’m bringing my barefoot dreams blanket

Long charger.

Everyone says this and it’s basically a given. I’m also bringing my portable charger that I’m obsessed with just in case

Heating pad.

This is something I mentioned in my stories that’s a little different then the norm. Someone suggested this and I loved the idea since in general my back is always sore – especially with a baby in my belly! I’m a huge fan of hesting pads, heated seats, etc etc so this will give me some good relief in the hospital if I’m having back labor or waiting on an epidural

Toiletries.

Another most used item for obvious reasons. I brought everything I would need for a shower plus my own towel and wash cloth. You’ll want your own towel since the ones the hospital provides are super tiny and flimsy. I also bring things like dry shampoo, mouth wash, nipple cream, facial mist etc. Basically anything I would need if I was going away for a few nights.

Stroller fan.

This was another big suggestion from everyone I spoke to. A lot of girls said they hooked theirs to the hospital bed as they were pushing. Personally I think this is genius since I remember sweating my little tush off as I was pushing. It’s also great if you get nauseous easily to have a little wind blowing on you.

Postpartum belly band.

This was something I really wish I had in my bag last delivery with Chase. If you followed me back when I had him you know we had a pretty tough time. I had to deliver him within 15 minutes and wasn’t even 10cm! Needless to say my body was SHOT beyond belief after that delivery. I remember every single muscle in my body being sore down to my fingers – not kidding. After you have your baby your core feels like mush, it’s such a strange sensation. For me, I really could have used the extra support so I could get around better myself. I ordered it from the hospital and let me tell you I’m obsessed. Not only does it provide excellent supper postpartum but it helps get everything back in the right places. It’s easy to adjust and you don’t need help putting it on and tightening it. This one is 10/10!

Snacks.

I packed a little snack bag at the suggestion of my doula. Last time I wasn’t able to eat or drink, jokes on me after a 23 hour labor I basically felt like I was stranded in the Sahara desert for a week. My doula explained that you definitely can have some light things to snack on especially if you don’t have your epidural. I also brought sugar free suckers so that in the event I can’t eat, I at least have something to suck on.

Vava nightlight.

I really like this for nighttime feeding since the baby has to stay in your rooms due to Covid. It’s also really nice to have some ambient lighting instead of turning on the harsh hospital lights every time someone comes in or if you need something. This is a must have for nursing at home too!!!

Clothes.

I’m bringing way too much so take this with a grain of salt. The one thing I do love bringing though is a barefoot dreams cardigan! It’s such an easy thing to throw on after your cleaned up and when you’re having guests. Of course it’s also the coziest thing ever. I’m also bringing a few pairs of pajamas with me although with Chase, I didn’t end up changing into my own pajamas since we had a different experience. Dark colors are key here!

Postpartum.

You really don’t need much of anything in this department. The hospital is going to send you home with BAGS of stuff so no need to buy anything here. This time I’m bringing my own pads since I hate the super thick pads the hospital provides. I’m also trying the Always Discreet “Underwear” for the first time so I’ll keep everyone updated on how that works out.

How I Pack

In terms of how I pack everything, I sort of went through this on my IG stories which I saved in a highlight. I love packing cubes as you know if you follow me and honestly this is an easy way for you to keep everything organized and direct people on where to find things. Since if you have an epidural you’ll most likely be bed ridden, your husband will need to grab your things for you. I have all my clothes and baby girls things organized in cubes and packed in a duffel bag. Personally I like a duffle bag rather than a full size suitcase but that’s just me! I keep all my toiletries, devices, makeup, in a carry on size  Away rolling bag. Toiletries are the heaviest part of my packing so this works best!

As I mentioned above, I have to admit I’m bringing a lot of things that I more than likely won’t use, but I always want to feel as prepared as possible! I’ve also listed some additional items below that are in my bag. I’ll do an update on things I actually used once I’m home with my little peanut!

If you’re getting ready for labor & delivery remember, you really don’t need much of anything. Good luck to all my soon to be mamas! I hope this helped.

Current Favorite Anthropologie Home Decor

If you’re a home decor lover like I am, I’m sure you’ve checked out Anthropologie. Anthropologie has some of the most gorgeous and unique pieces and I love checking out their new arrivals every season! Here are some of my favorite home decor pieces that I’ve found at Anthropologie.

Fountain Planter

I love this fountain planter because it is so versatile! You can use it for plants, to hold other decor pieces, or even hold your jewelry or other accessories. It is just a perfect piece and a great addition to any home.

Bronwen Decorative Tray

You guys know I love gold, so I had to pick this tray up. It is just so beautiful and is a great accent piece to add to any space.

Beaded Jute Garland

I have really become obsessed with bead garland, and this one is no exception. I love putting bead garland on shelves, on my dining table, really anywhere! It is such a simple piece, but makes a big impact.

Textured Ronan Pillow in Neutral

I’ve really been loving experimenting with textures in my decor, so I thought this pillow would be the perfect thing to add! I love that I can use this pillow indoors or outdoors and the pattern is unique, but still classy.

Bloom Fragrance Diffuser Set

This fragrance diffuser set was too cute to pass up! The scent is so gorgeous and fruity, and the colors of the diffusers are so beautiful as well. This is such a cute piece for spring and summer!

Melina Metal Candle

I can never leave Anthropologie without a candle and I love these gold ones. They come in three different sizes, and are perfect for any room of the house!

Latte Bowl Set

These little latte bowls are so perfect! Latte bowls are such a classic kitchen decor piece and I love all of the colors these come in. They definitely make a great gift as well!

Barr-Co. Apothecary Jar Candle

I had been hearing about this candle everywhere and I had to get it for myself! I love the original scent—it’s a warm, fresh vanilla scent and it smells delicious! This one is definitely worth the hype.

Agate Cheese Board

Isn’t this the most gorgeous cheese board you’ve ever seen?! I absolutely love the gold accent on the edge! This one comes in a few different colors, but the white quartz is my favorite. Definitely adds a little something extra to your average cheese board.

Definitely let me know what your favorite decor pieces from Anthroplogie are! I’d love to check out some more.

Recent Amazon Home Finds

I’m back with another Amazon home haul! You guys know that I absolutely love Amazon for everything, but especially home decor. There are so many hidden gems for such great prices, I can’t help but check out the site every once in a while to see if there’s anything new.

For summer, I love to incorporate more woven patterns and textures to give that beachy, summery feel to my space. Of course, I still like to keep all of my decor light and bright, but it is fun to add a few different accent pieces into the mix as well. Here are my most recent Amazon home finds that I am loving right now!

Mini Faux Plants

You can never have enough faux plants! Especially in the summer, I love to add a little more greenery into my decor. I love these mini size plants because you can stick them anywhere, and I love the bright white vase as well.

Ceramic Vase Set

I fell in love with this vase set when I saw it. The off-white color is gorgeous and the distressed design adds in just a little bit of the tan color I was talking about. I can picture myself changing out the faux floral arrangements for different seasons as well.

Woven serving tray

This serving tray is so versatile, I can think of so many different ways I can use it in my home! Whether it’s on my coffee table or my dining table, this tray is perfect to hold other decor pieces or more practical things like the TV remotes. The options are truly endless!

Square throw pillow & Rectangle throw pillow

I saw these two pillows and knew I had to pair them together. They’re the same pattern from the same brand, but in two different shapes. They look great next to each other on the couch and are both great neutral throw pillows!

White bead garland

You guys already know I love bead garland, but I was looking for a lighter color to brighten up my decor. I love this bright white garland; it was exactly what I was looking for!

Gold Crystal Candle Holders Set

How gorgeous are these candle holders?! I saw these and I couldn’t resist. They just add a pop of gold and a little sparkle to any space. I know I’ll have these out all summer long—I’m so glad I found this set!

Tan and white throw blanket

I really am a sucker for a good throw blanket, and this one is beautiful! I love the woven pattern, the color the tan and white color. It’ll be perfect to throw on my couch during the summer to match the rest of my summer decor!

Woven pouf ottoman

I’ve been looking for a pouf like this for a while, and I finally found this one! Again, I love the woven pattern on the top and how it adds a little extra structure to the shape. You could use this as a side table or a ottoman to put your feet on—whatever you’d like! Another versatile piece that I am so excited about.

And that’s it! I love going to Amazon to switch up my home decor every season. Let me know what your favorite Amazon home decor pieces are—I am always looking for new recommendations and styles to check out!
